View Full Version : Engine What goes where...

Okay... so, I'm a bit ADD and started taking things apart and forgot to take copious notes. I need to know where this thing is supposed to be located during the reinstallation of the intake/fuel system. Any help would be appreciated... no slamming me about the open intake ports, I was just about to shop-vac the valley when I snapped this...

I don't see anything except a Broken Link icon. When I tried to access the image directly, it comes up "Invalid Attachment Specified".

It goes into the bottom left of the air metering unit.

It got its name for being a general PITA to reinstall when assembling the venturi atop the intake manifold.

You ain't kidding! I think I'll remove the venturi, then snake it into the fuel mixture monster, then add the venturi again... I may to worry my nephew's skinny teenaged fingers for this one.

It isn't that hard. You look down into the mixture unit by pushing on the air sensor plate while you thread the pipe into the hole. You can use a guide wire if necessary, stick it into the mixture unit, through the hole and into the pipe. Lube the end of the pipe a little so it slides into the "O" ring. Don't force it, if you encounter resistance stop and check why.

Agree with David T...
Put a flashlight down behind the driver side of the engine so that when you open the air plate in the intake you can see the light shining through. This will help you guide it into place.
