The color palate almost looks like something from Kung Fury.

But I'm gonna go with my gut here and say it's from The Day the Clown Cried.

Argh. I think some people need to get laid a bit more often. :evil3:

Before giving the answer, I'll say that it is an animated movie. The car itself was NOT a DeLorean but as is clear to us someone in the animation studio used the Delorean's cluster as an inspiration.

I would say that since they're only doing about 20mph and running at over 4k rpm, they got a tranny issue (or just dont know there are gears past 1st).

No idea on the movie..not enough surrounding to say.

Did it make it to the big screen or was it straight to video? Judging from the type of animation being used it was fairly recent in the last 5 years.

Cool World?

Btw The Last Starfighter was not animated...aside form the ships being early CGI.

I give up.

My first guest was Initial D, but they wouldn't be so sloppy with an inaccurate display for a car.

This looks like an original scan, or at least too new for Google's, Tin Eye, or any other reverse image search engine to locate. You're not on any anime boards that I can locate (though you love NASA). I found your Intrepid that was leaking fluid due to a bad O-ring on the dipstick, your old hail-damaged SVX, some nice furniture, and possibly where you work. But I cannot for the life of me figure out what movie this damned screen cap is from!!!

Congrats, you stumped me.

Which is what I meant... I thought maybe he was playing loose with the description.
To throw it back at you - not everything in Cool World was animated either... ;0)

Pretty sure that's the cockpit of Captain Pickard's X-Wing when he came to earth to pick-up Alex Rogan.

Is it the dash from Luke Skywalker's landspeeder from the special-special edition of Star Wars?

Hmm, curious what furniture you found Robert?

Yea the hail was crappy because it happened while I was trying to sell it. As a result I got way less than I wanted for it.

The Intrepid's leak eventually stopped on its own.

Yes I am a big space buff.

So the movie cap was a photo of my TV, taken in the dark. It exaggerated the aura around the instruments a little but it was primarily an on-screen effect. The image of the dash only appears for less than a second. Watched it as a family movie night, and when I saw it flash up the first time I knew what I saw. Unfortunately it never showed clearly again for the entire movie and I had to go back after the movie was over.

Somebody at Dreamworks must own/like Delorean's.

Looks like it's in your garage, with a stroller and a Kawasaki. It's amazing how once we get a screen name/handle, we stick to it and become traceable. It was a bit of a skill I learned when trying to first build a portfolio of my own car's history. Google has made it much harder now with their geographic and content filters at times to mine the data you want, but it's still easily doable.

It's mind blowing at times just how much this car has slowly crept into pop culture and stayed visible and relevant for so long.

DING DING DING DING DING!!!!

Car - completely non-DeLorean but alien modified with BTTF-inspired mods.

Car's instrument cluster - DeLorean. With 140mph speedo. Running on Unleaded Fufl.
