DeLorean Manuals?

Hi again,

Just picked up the car, and could not be more excited. Drove it home, stopped to get a bite to eat and was surrounded by people. I kinda expected some of that, but still very surprising when it occurred.

I'm looking for the best place to buy an entire set of manuals that I would use for repair and restoration, essentially all the same material you all already have invested in.

I See DMCH has a set, as well as SpecialTAuto. Don't know if those are the only 2 games in town, but need a recommendation from this braintrust here.

It depends how you want the manuals bound. DMCH and the franchise dealers present their manuals in reproduction DMC 3-ring binders. Hervey spiral bounds his. PJ Grady sold manual sets in the past. His were spiral bound as well if I'm not mistaken. Check in ebay as well because sometimes you can get a good deal on there.

I'd recommend printed too....i have the pdf (which isnt searchable, etc)..but cant afford the printed one as yet and its a pain to run in, look at the computer..run out do a thing...wash rinse repeat...hehe.

FWI our workshop manual is now supplied in a three ring binder and the parts manual, bulletins, and technical manuals are spiral bound (We recently switched to a metal spiral instead of plastic).

FWIW - I have some of the three ring variety... They do not hold up to shop wear so if you can find spiral bound I would suggest that.

Really appreciate all of your collective insight. Don't really know how I will use them, or even how much of the restoration work I am capable of doing. But, I've decided to start a relationship with DMCMW by first purchasing a set of manuals. Being in a seasonal climate, I need to make some decisions quickly on my strategy to take advantage of the long winter ahead.

FWIW - I have some of the three ring variety... They do not hold up to shop wear so if you can find spiral bound I would suggest that.

I have the 3-ring also, however I have every page in sheet protectors so I have no issues. I have the online version too but having the manual in print is a must so I don't have to keep running back in forth, it is right by the car so I can just pull a binder and flip it open. Only downside to using sheet protectors is I had to split the manual into 2 binders. I guess I should get a larger binder and put it all in one, maybe one day...
