View Full Version : Electrical Cut Wires?

So the other day I took a look in the compartment behind the drivers seat where the ignition, idle speed and Lambda ECU's are located.
And I noticed what to me looks like speaker cables maybe? that were cut. I'm not an electrician expert by any means and I tried googling for a bit but I can't really figure what these wires are and if its bad that they are cut. (except for the obvious fire hazard)

Anyone have a clue, or can help me out, would gladly appreciate any help:)

might be hard to see in the photos here, I'll try to take better ones.

It is not speakers. In your first picture I see the lower half of the cut wire is tapped into the red power line that powers your radio antenna and something under the ECU?

The top half I'm having a difficult time seeing what that is tapped into or where that is going. This is definitely something a previous owner intentionally installed and then cut for whatever reason.

Do you know if the car ever had an alarm system? Maybe the wire went to a horn or alarm in the engine bay.

Ahh thanks that makes sense, when I bought it, it had one of those horn/alarms in the engine bay, and then I had DMCCA remove it, so most likely thats what the wires were for, I'll continue to do some research though, just to make sure;)

Hehe...Feel lucky thats the only odd wires you have....Mine has some cut/spliced wires, extra red connector in engine bay, connectors that seem to go no where...PO was insane, so now I get the fun of trying to guess the function...lol

Haha damn! Well yeah, I just dont like seeing split/cut wires. So I'm glad I figured it out.. Now just gotta yank them out of the car ;)
