Door lock module failure

I am thinking my door lock module is no good, it was disconnected by the PO. I have purchase the door lock upgrade and checked all the wiring and adjusted the bell crank settings and checked it with a ohm meter, all good.
When the power wire is connected the doors lock and stay locked until the power wire is disconnected.
I have taken out the door lock module and checked the relays as per a door lock upgrade blog and this is what I have found.
One relay does what it is supposed to and closes then opens the other relay when tested stays closed until I disconect the power.
I am thinking that that is the door lock relay and it is holding power to the solenoids.
Would I be better getting a upgraded module or a replacement or send this to be fixed remembering I am in Australia and the shipping costs to and from here to the U.S. are outrageous.

Unplug the wires to the doors. They are in the roof under the headliner. Try the door lock module again. If it still feeds power to the solenoids you have a wiring problem in the main harness and/or the module. If it is OK then the problem is in one (or both) of the doors. When you get it fixed cut a 10A in-line fuse in the big red wire going from the door lock module to the circuit breaker.

Correction: door harness connectors in the roof are only accessible by removing the exterior T-roof panel then you remove the small access cover in the roof structure.

Suggestion: I would remove the door panels first so that you can see the bellcrank while its being actuated. You can also disconnect the solenoids if needed too. But that's just me.

I have both interior panels off the doors and reset all the linkages and checked the bell crank position, all good. I have taken the module out of the car and tested it as per someone's blog. When connecting 12 volts to the olive wire and negative to the brown and grey wire one relay in the module will actuate momentarily. That is correct as per the test blog, when I connect the negative to the other brown and pink wire the other relay actuates but holds closed and as far as I know it should do the same as the other relay.

I have checked the relays and they are not stuck or fused, just one relay stays closed when it should close momentarily then open like the other relay in the module. Are there any other checks on the module itself that can be done to confirm that it is that before I buy a replacement.

All of your tests were on the bench? You said, you confirmed both relays were not stuck/ fused. Did you do that by continuity checking without power?

OOps about the location of the plugs! If you bench tested the module then it would appear to be bad. Probably one of the diodes.

Sounds like you have welded internal relay.

This is a common problem with the original module. It must be disconnected or it will run down the battery and burn up the affected solenoid. We have reconditioned units that are beefier than stock to increase reliability over the NOS part or aftermarket unit currently available.
