or rather, the last one that I know of...ie, mine. Working, that is!

I wrote a little piece today (http://www.motoringme.com/features/bought-delorean/)on how I finally managed to snag my Delorean all way over here in Dubai, and would love to get some feedback from you folks. And especially on the photography - worked super hard to do something a little different!

Strictly speaking, I don't think it's the last car - there's at least a couple more in Oman, says DMCH's James. But it's definitely the only one in the UAE, and perhaps by extension the whole region. I imagine there's one sitting sadly in a collection somewhere...but like the proverbial tree falling in the forest, does it actually exist if it's theoretical?

Nice story Iggy. Welcome to the forum.

I think there is a couple in Saudi, and a couple of wrecks in Kuwait, as well as a black/red painted one in Lebanon, but from what I've seen, yours is the nicest

Those are some sweet pictures. Rather surprised if that is really the only one in UAE. Figured with all the money and exotics there, there would be more of them.

Ah, that's the rub. All the money is only interested in brand new cars - hence we are inundated with car 'collections' that consist solely of whatever hypercar was 'cool' at the time - ie Carrera GT, Enzo, SLR, if we were talking about 10 years ago, for example.

There's precious little interest in older cars and most end up rotting by the roadside - like this one (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/279926933063829807/), since relocated to Germany.

One exception is Kuwait - they found oil in the 30s, and despite being a small country, they have a very extensive collection of well-kept classics (the Emir has purportedly the largest collection of classic Astons in the world). If there's a D to be found in the GCC, it'll be in Kuwait.

Alistair Vanstone in the UK and James Espey of DMCH did a good article about these cars a few years ago, referenced here

http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?1754-Middle-East-Deloreans&highlight=Middle+East

It's essentially about the 50 cars that were shipped there in 1982 (which iggy's isn't one of)

Great article! Thanks for sharing it.
If you don't mind, I made a translation about it on my blog. Please say, if I should remove it.

And a stupid question, but is it possible to show me a few pictures about your car with palm trees? :D
One of my friend wants to see some, but it is quite difficult to find good pictures about Deloreans and palm trees together. :)
