I am having trouble locating the bleed screw on the slave clutch cylinder. Cannot really see the slave cylinder and can barely touch it. Any tips? It's starting to look like I am going to have to remove the intake manifold as I cannot see anything down there with the hoses and fuel distributor lines in the way. Any ideas?

Thanks.

You have to raise the car up to access the bleed screw.
Once you're under the car, you can see it and unscrew it.

I must have another pic somewhere where you can see it under the car, I'll try to find it for you.

Depending how hoses are routed in the back, you can see it when you get over the engine at the right angle. Probably can not get your hands down there from the top.

It should be bleed from above using a piece of 1/4' clear tubing as you'll be able to see when the fluid is clear, clean and bubble free. It's also important not to let the fluid drain onto the transmission and frame (As per the handy illustration-thanx Domi! Also did you notice how rusted your clutch fork is? The fluid is destroying it.) because it is a highly corrosive and very effective paint remover. Use an 8mm open end wrench and slide it under the heater hoses to open and close the fitting after you install the tubing. We never have to bleed from below.

If you do remove the intake, I suggest adding Hervey's remote bleeder so you will never have a problem again. Just remember to use teflon tape to seal the threads or it will leak.

Found the bleed screw from the top. It is on top although not sure about getting tools in there, might be able to get a socket on there since it is pointing up. Can someone tell me what size the screw is?

I guess you didn't read my post where I said 8mm and what type of wrench to use and how to approach it?

OK, thanks.

I just installed Hervey's clutch bleeder extender without removing anything but pulling one vacuum hose out of the way. So you could do the bleed from the top if you find a way to get your wrench and hand down there.

Even did it without any blood from my hands or arms.:goatee:

Maybe a good ideal to tie a string to your wrench so you don't loose it.

You might find the following thread helpful. It helped me a little over a year ago. I ultimately replaced only the MC, and bled. Still working great, and still grateful for the excellent advice I got on this forum.
