This is the same producer (Steve Lee Jones) that announced his DeLorean movie back in 2009. It went from a movie, to a TV movie, now a to miniseries. Jones has acquired the rights of the DeLorean estate, working with DeLorean's widow Sally, and now allegedly his three brothers. However one needs to take into account that the only reason Jones got involved with a DeLorean film project, was because he's very good friends with attorney Mayer "Mike" Morganroth. Morgonroth represented John Z. during the late 1980's and 1990's, and was the person who pretty much ended up bankrupting JZD. Morganroth was also Jack Kevorkian's attorney, which Steve Lee Jones ending up producing a TV movie called "You Don't Know Jack" starring Al Pacino. A lot of people aren't happy about this project, specifically JZD's daughter, Kathryn. Amongst herself and a few others all agree that JZD would be completely against this project knowing that Morganroth is involved.

Now that this project has been announced as a miniseries, please don't get it confused with the another TV miniseries that I've been personally involved with for the past several years. https://www.facebook.com/DeLoreanMiniseries/

There are still a few other competing DeLorean film and TV projects in the works. There's a good article from The Hollywood Reporter that was written in 2010 about all the competing projects: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/john-delorean-movies-ready-duke-30164
