Removing V1 style lock from door

Ok, Im trying to remove this old V1 style lock. I bought a needle nose with a 90 end which can get on the thing...but I'm lost as to what I'm actually supposed to
compress or whatever.

Any help is appreciated.

Chris Nicholson is a master at removing this purposely designed NOT to be removed lock. The plastic is also now older and more brittle making successful R&R'ing very difficult . You need to get several probes slipped under the curved plastic edges securing the lock...not an easy task. The lock is also not serviceable so if it is jammed up you're wasting your time trying to remove it. They are normally just broken out with a hammer and punch if you're not trying to save it. The later clip secured one key lock-sets are fully serviceable and far superior. They have been reproduced and are not overly expensive. Unless you fancy the car is a concours queen just get the new lock-set and notch the doors carefully to accept them. I have a loaner jig for this purpose. If you still want to save it I wish you good luck and keep aspirin handy.

I have no interest in putting it back in...so I dont care if its in peices (yeah I tried pounding and whatnot, avoiding damaging the door).
Going to get new keyed locks from DMCNW.
I got a write up from Toby on removing it, so when I get a chance gonna try what it says. He says they just file the door. Though I guess the mentioned jig would
make it easier?

My car wont be a concourse queen by any stretch..going to be my daily driver.
