New Retractable Antenna

I picked up a new antenna from dmcmw. This is the retractable fender mounted version. It has a small set of keys with it, I'm not sure what the are for, and I'm not seeing the trick to extend the antenna. Help?

Put the key in the slot, pry slightly for resistance and pull the antenna up with the key. The slot and key are just a tool used to help drag the antenna up when it's pushed all the way down.
