Installing Rock Screen Upper Mounting Bracket

I bought a new rock screen upper mounting bracket kit from dpi. I need help getting the old mounting brackets off. What is the trick to drilling out in the rivets? I included a few pictures of mine. Mine are a bit rusted.

Hi there,

You should be able to drill the center of them out using a small bit (less than 1/4"). When they let go, the remains of the rivets will either fall out or stay on the drill bit. When I did mine, I used all aluminum 5/32" x 1/4" rivets to re-attach them. Here's a picture if it helps:

Yep, that's all it was. The rivits were just a lot longer then I expected.
