I've turned my attention once again to my center console and am thinking about fixing my broken plastic shift boot bracket by replacing it with a metal one. I checked out both DMCH and DPI's online stores and I'm a little confused.

DMCH sells a unit with a "metal frame" and "correct stitching"
http://store.delorean.com/p-8647-shift-bootmetal-bracket.aspx

DPI sells a "stainless shift boot frame" and their leather has "double French stiching"
http://www.deloreanindustries.com/shift-boot-with-stainless-frame/

Not being a stitching expert, I looked carefully at the photos and realized they're the same. Do these vendors share the same inventory for this part and therefore DMCH's frame is also stainless and DPI's stitching is also correct?

Thanks in advance!

I'm fairly certain that Josh's offering is of his own design, and in no way exactly the same as the DMCH boot. Similar in function, but different.

What I meant by "the same" is that the photos are exactly the same photo.

Actually his boot is my design or was as I allowed him to copy my frame design because his sheet metal guy came up with a better price than mine so we switched production to his guy. I supplied all of the leather boots and still did as of the last batch I made. I'm about to make more as I'm getting low on stock. Currently our product is essentially the same.

PS The shift boot (correct picture) is shown on our website and shares little in common with the DMCH design.

Both are double french stitched. Its the additional outer stitch you see on either side of the main straight seam stitch. Doesn't necessarily add strength unless another piece of material is sewn on the backside bridging the straight seam.

I stand corrected, my apologies, Rob.
