Has anyone with minor shift issues found this product effective at minimizing or eliminating the occasional grind?

My transaxle grinds briefly while downshifting into 3rd unless i gently lean the shifter against the threshold of the shift change at which point it falls into 3rd gear with no issues.

I found a thread where Dave S didn't much care for it, but I'd like to exhaust my options before digging into more mechanical solutions.

This product is specially designed for transaxles.

I'm also curious about this. I had my gear oil changed with the conventional 80w90 a few months back. But I still get the occasional grind when I'm going directly from neutral to 1st, or from neutral to reverse. Unless I pull the shifter into 2nd before putting it into 1st, or Reverse. It never grinds when I do it this way. I've already gotten used to doing this everytime by habit. But it would be cool to not have to do it.
