Drive Stainless

I attempted to adjust my torsion bar this weekend, but was unlucky when reinstalling the bracket. One of the holes stripped out! Damn!
Luckily, a Timesert can be used to make the repair. I used an M8x1.25 x 8mm (length) stainless steel insert. You do NOT want to use an insert that is longer than the depth of the threaded hole you are repairing, or the insert will not lock securely in place.
First, a pic of the Timesert case and a sample nut (from a parts car) that is identical to what is inside of the roof box.

Next, a pic of the Timesert kit contents. Note that the normally provided M8x1.25 inserts are TOO LONG for this application.

Lastly, a pic of the completed repair. I elected to do repair both holes as a preventative measure and because double-the-repair = double-the-fun! Red Loctite was used and will cure overnight before the next attempt.
