New refurbished Alcantara Steering Wheel

Like I promised in a previous thread, here is my newly refurbished Alcantara steering wheel with white cross stitching and white leather center stripe mounted in my car.
I still have the original steering wheel for the car incase I want to change back later.

I got to be honest, this is by far my favourite upgrade on the car, it changed the feel of driving the car way more than I expected. It makes me just want to hold on to that wheel and never let go :D

To be honest with you, I got inspired by looking at their portfolio where a lot of their steering wheels had a center stripe.

The main reason for using this (my understanding) is for racing cars, rally cars or cars that frequently go on tracks that allows the driver to better reference the steering wheel direction when going on tracks, some also use it in video and visual analysis in a lap-to-lap situation. I also read somewhere that some use it too see how much their steering is dialled in, and alignment work. Some also use it to reference their steering work in racing, so instead of using their hand as a reference they can use the center stripe, turning speed going into a turn vs going out of a turn. It can also let you visually know how loaded the car is and how hard one can limit the brake with the wheel turned or at least thats my understanding and what I have heard from others.

That aside I only did it for appearance as I thought it may look cool, looking back I kind of regret not getting the stripe in matching grey leather to the interior, but then again I like white and its a nice accent (I think) on my steering wheel. If I only had the original steering wheel I would not do this, but since I now have two I can easily swap between the two. Although I'm so in love with the alcantara so I think I will be using it for a while ;)

As tail happy as the DeLorean is at speed the stripe is just manditory...but as tail heavy as it is if you ever did break it loose you have no chance of getting it back!

The wheel looks great! I always thought the pad looked and felt cheapin stock vynil.
