ESCUTCHEON RH / Passenger Side Blanking Plate

Has anyone else installed the new escutcheon (101888...) from DMCH? I popped it into place in the passenger side door, and I went to put the blanking plate (106249) in... and the hole for the blanking plate is too small. Anyone else hit this problem?

Are you fitting the blanking plate from the top? If so, it actually sits underneath.

I prefer to install the cap in to hole. I had to gently file the opening a bit to allow the cap to sit correctly. When you install the cap into the Escutcheon, it allows easier access to the clips that hold the Escutcheon in place.

I cut my cap down and epoxied it to the underside of the escutcheon. Now it is essentially a one piece assembly and looks much better than having a gap between the cap and the escutcheon like before.

That would be one PIA to remove in the future without breaking it.
