Can anyone identify this sweet flea market find?

I'm almost positive that it's the bag from the original dealer car cover, but since I've never seen one before I just wanted to verify. I also guess it could be a storage bag for the removable ski rack parts, but it seems a little wide and flimsy for that.

Awesome, thanks Dermot and David. Any advice on washing it? This one is pretty yellowed - would it hold up to a gentle hand washing or should I leave it alone? :)

That bag looks slightly different than the car cover bag I have. Mine looks longer and the end is a flat. It looks like the one in the original picture has a round end sewn into it.

I would imagine a gentle wash would be OK. It feels like cotton, or a cotton mix.

Mine was pretty faded too but I have left it for now.

Yeah mine feels like it's made out of the same material a sweatshirt would be made out of. The outer surface is flat and the inside surface is a little more fluffed up so it's soft.

As you can see, mine has a few stains on it and areas that looks like they've been bleached out. It came that way from the previous owner and I've considered washing it... With my luck it would shrink and not fit the car anymore so I've left it alone.

Should be OK to wash the bag. Don't wash a cover if it was used outside for a long time, it will turn into dust (well, actually mud in a washing machine).

Weird! Yeah, mine definitely has a round bottom. There was no cover in it, just the bag.

Thanks, Dave! I wasn't going to machine wash it anyway - plan was to soak in some warm water with detergent and hand rinse/air dry and call it good. Nothing too stressful :)

Mine. Bag has the round bottom, has a cotton feel and looks right. Don't know for sure about the cover though.

Is there a tag on either the bag or cover that IDs what it is made of?

Or suggested laundry care?

Make sure not to use any bleach. It might make it whiter but may not see logos anymore. :clown:

No instructions anywhere that I can see on the bag.

I had mine dry-cleaned. Gentler on it and gets out any stains. Not expensive and I don't expect to get it dirty anytime soon. Mine has a story to it. When I bought my car the owner didn't have it handy and wasn't sure where it was. Over a year later he sent it to me, he found it in the bottom of his golf bag!

Nice find. If you wash it, turn it inside out... logo on the inside. Like David suggests... dry clean would be my pick or simply leave it alone like it is and store it in a nice dry place.

Some dry cleaning solutions can remove or dissolve logos. My vote is to hand wash using dish wash detergent if you must. Hang dry but don't iron logos. It might melt.
