ebay car VIN question

So, I got a little excited when I saw my... I dunno... "brother" car on ebay. It's VIN 1251. But it states that it was a new build from DMCH in 2008 (with a stage II engine). How does that work? Was VIN 1251 totalled and the VIN reclaimed?

VIN 1251 is the "donor" car. DMCH cannot "create" new unique VINS out of thin air.

I've been on the lookout for my "sister" cars also. You're very close to mine ( 1258 ) do you know of anyone out there thats closer to ours besides the 1251? Or better yet, any way to track down other registered VINs?
