Hey guys
the car is running great, now time to make the interior sound better...
Best place for a 12" JL sub (deeper than most) - front trunk vs parcel ledge?
Which is better?
Can you really hear the sub very well if it is in the front trunk when you were driving down the road?
Does anyone in the forms make custom sub boxes?
Does anyone make boxes for the speakers that go under the dash? So they have better sound ?
does Patrick – the guy with the iPad and his – have a tutorial anywhere?

I would contact Danny at DMC Huntington Beach. When he was at DeLorean Motor Center (Don Steger's shop) in Garden Grove, they sold both subwoofers for the cubby behind the drivers' seat and kick panel speaker enclosures. He'll know what to do.

I have a shallow mount 12" in a custom spare tire fiberglass enclosure. With proper power you'll have no trouble hearing (and feeling) it inside the car. You will find quite a few new rattles and will probably want to add some dampening material to the thinner sections of the underbody as well as the access panels. Anything in the jack storage area will need to be wrapped in something.
Previously I had a 10" Kicker Solobaric in the driver storage compartment. The spare tire arrangement sounds much better to me but the enclosure size was compromised with the Kicker. If I were going to do another storage compartment sub I'd stick with a very very high quality 8" sub and ensure the enclosure volume was spot-on.
I'm not a fan of parcel shelf speakers because I hate to lose the space. If using a non sealed enclosure I'd expect to hear port noise as well with the box so close to your ears. But it is the easiest location to mount a sub, no question.
If you don't have a component speaker setup already I can't imagine any sub will sound super great with 3.5" or 4x10" speakers. At the least I'd want a larger front speaker set. In my own car I removed the 4x10 speakers entirely and run no rear speakers.

I have the DMC CA 8" sub with enclosure in the storage behind the driver's seat, along with 3.5" in the dash, and 5.25 at the stock locations behind the side panels. I'm very happy with it all the way around. I also have a power amp driving everything. That's installed behind the carpeted parcel shelf.

Any photos? Is the DMC CA 8" sub with enclosure still available?

Kick Panel speakers are also very nice too. The fiberglass floorboards are like drums when you smack on them, so getting some base down onto them helps allot to feel it.
As for the dashboard speakers, I shoved in some tweeters from a component system instead of regular speakers. I like the feeling of bass with the rest of my body, but the higher location of the tweeters bouncing off the windshield, piercing directly into your ears is a great way to not only fill the cabin with sound, but to physically separate them so that they don't interfere with one another.

I would contact Cameron or Danny at DMC CA. I'm sure they still have them available.
