This is how a stock DeLorean spark plug gap compares to other cars for sale in North America in 1981:

For this list I used engine options that were similarly sized to a PRV (no V8's).
The stock DeLorean plug gap is sized appropriately for the ignition coil and primary voltage used on the car. Do not widen your DeLorean's plug gap unless you have modified both the coil and primary voltage accordingly. Most other manufacturers obviously did not use the same coil, and their primary voltages were typically higher.
