New Delorean Owner Vin # 00860

Hi All!

After years of lusting after a Delorean, I finally own one! Vin # 00860, 5 speed MT, Black Interior, Gas Flap, 19,796 original miles! She is in good shape, but I cannot wait to bring her back to her original showroom condition! This forum has already been so helpful to me, and I am looking forward to learning more and more about my car with all of your help!

I love that it's an early car. Makes it a bit rare in a few ways. I was going to get the later brighter wheels but they have grown on me a lot. And they are a trademark of the early D's.

Take a flashlight into the driver's footwell and look up and to the left above the hood release latch. See any hard, green epoxy at the horizontal joint between the upper and lower fiberglass body tub halves there? Don't worry, nothing wrong - the oozing is long since over.

I too have an early vin 726, and after 10 years of ownership I can tell you it's gonna be an experience, for the first few years it broke down constantly and I had lots of run ins with crappy mechanics............then i took it to DMC Midwest and haven't had an issue since. Those guys are awesome. AND my car works perfectly for 7 years now. LOVE THE DELOREAN! Live the DREAM and get ready to talk to idiots everytime you take it out for a drive.

Hi there been busy running the shop so just now got to catch up. Been looking for my dmc and thought I might get lucky this summer, been looking since oct 2015 $20000 just aint getin it! Gonna keep looking I am Mary in Montana! So happy for you. I think we have 7 dmc's here. three were here on july 4th this year. One is a time machine. Had a great time with extremely great people. Love the forum and our members, great people, great advice and I am not giving up. Just gonna work hard keep looking and surround myself with dmc's til I can't drive anymore.
