I would guess $1400 or best offer: http://dmctalk.org/showthread.php?14232-Original-graining-tool

I'm guessing the market for an original is extremely limited...brand new ones can be purchased for a few hundred bucks.

Just speculation on my part, but anyone interested in an original tool it's going want it for the historical significance and not so much because their car is in need of a re-grain.

Depends on what you mean... Are you referring to the pneumatic drill that drives the Vonnegut wheel or the wheel itself. The original drill is rare. The wheels can be purchased relatively easily.

I bought a wheel second hand for $100 and an electrica drill that spins at the proper RPM for $100.

Cheers
