Ok, Im wondering if the wires coming off the driver side ecu blocks go through the same hole as the engine compartment release cable?
Wondering because mine are..I didnt see any other holes for them to go through though.

Anyone else who'd car is currently apart can take a look and see?

Thanks.

Most likely, the wires are for the antenna and travel through the ecu compartment to the driver pontoon.

Also, post a picture clarifying what wires you're talking about. There's always the possibility of a PO hack job.

X2 power antenna wires.

The oxygen sensor wire and distributor pickup wire also pass through that side of the "firewall".

Here's what I'm talking about...the yellow and brownish wires going up and through the same hole as the cable. To be sure, PO shennanigans are extremely possible (wouldnt be the first oddness I've found)...hehe.

Power antenna confirmed!

Anyways, don't worry about it, and just clean up those damn wires!

Do they generally go out a different way, as oppsoed to out the same hole as the cable?

Yes, that 9 pin connector has no business being there. It looks like someone might have removed the lower right white 9-pin connector block from the bulkhead terminals (behind the coil cover) and moved it to its current position. That connector mainly handles idle control. Can't tell the colors very well from the photo and there's no guarantee it wasn't all rearranged anyway :)

See the attached bulkhead terminal diagram in this post:

To solve what problem? Who knows!

Im pretty sure all the bulkhead connectors are there, or the guys at DMCNW woulda noticed when I took her up there last year to have a make-run done.
There is a mystery red connector, that they couldnt figure out what it was..possibly manual transmission connector or even diagnostic...dunno.

One thing for sure...these cars make things interesting..or I should say PO's do...lol.

That's not a white bulkhead connector -- They don't use the top wire (pin #44), and the other wire colors are wrong...

The "mystery red connector"- Early models had two red connectors (Auto v/s Manual trans. The extra was clipped & taped off.) IIRC, the one with two Green and one White wire that loops right back into the connector is for Manuals. The one for an Auto uses every terminal (9).

The white 9-way connector is LH Door Interior Harness that runs up the access panel opening in the roof box. The tell tales are the Slate/Green and Slate/purple wires which are for the LH window motor.

I wasn't concerned about that...thats just part of the harness that goes along the back...hehe.
