Can anyone recommend a DeLorean mechanic in the Cincinnati area? I was driving through town when my transmission started acting up and I suddenly didn't have any gears and the shifter went limp, with no resistance. I was eventually able to get it into 2nd and limp to my destination, but now I can't even get it back into neutral. Something with the hydraulics is messed up.

Any recommendations for a DeLorean mechanic in the Cincinnati area would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm no mechanic but you might just have a broken shift linkage bolt. Perhaps someone else can chime in.

Anyway, the bolt is a cheap part and I believe you can get it from Hervey for less than $10.

Did it make any noises prior to failure? You may have had the 5th gear nut back off and go thru the housing. I had the samething happen to my car. I could only get it into a gear, 3rd or 4th, not for sure. But, once it was in gear it did not come back out of it. What is you VIN number? There is a large DeLorean population in the Cincinnati area.

Dave Bauerle is a DMC mechanic in Delaware OH (Columbus)
Bauerle Automotive (http://ohiodeloreans.com/Bauerle-v3.htm)

Josh and Ken are Cinci locals who may be able to help you. Not technically "mechanics" by trade but have been working on them for years.

Thanks for the suggestions/help, guys! Dave Bauerle is gone until Tuesday, but Josh already got back to me with an offer to help. Thanks for putting me in touch with him, Shannon!
