Hi,

My fuel light in the binnacle lights when I jumper the appropriate contacts at the sender, but not when I turn the ignition on,

Should it light at key position 2 with the oil brake and battery lamps??

Mine doesn't, but the other lamps do...

Thanks in advance,

Andy

It only will light if the fuel is low and the ignition is on (and it is working).

Thanks David,

Thats a bit short sighted in the design, isn't it? As there is no way to know when you bulb fails... it just doesn't light up-

1) do you have plenty of fuel, or
2) has you bulb blown, or
3) is your sender or some other part of the circuit shot

I may wire in a "test" facility, in a small push-to-contact switch under the dash, allowing me to ensure my bulb is working....

Cheers

Andy

There is no provision to test that function. There IS a way to test the brake light. There is a black button in the center of the cap on the brake reservoir. Most cars of that era didn't have a low fuel light, you had to watch the fuel gauge.
