Maybe it is because of the way the website is laid out (a bit scattered if you know what I mean), but I must have missed when SpecialTAuto started going by the name Delorean Auto Parts (DAP). I'm sure someone is going to tell me that it happened 10 years ago and that I've been asleep at the wheel.

Why then do we always refer to John at SpecialT?????

I want to say at least 2 years ago is when I first noticed it, maybe sooner but my memory is like my typing skills, pretty terrible. I have no idea why. I still refer to him as specialT simply because I'm stuck in an old way, plus I'm pretty stubborn. :D

URL is still SpecialT.

There was a big dustup in the early 2000's because John's name closely resembled Darryl Tinnerstet's company (Specialty Automotive). It's all moot now.

While we're on the subject of SpecialT. I've been waiting for the reimbursement of core charges on two orders for awhile now. Does anyone know how long these usually take?

If you have not done so call him and remind him. Sometimes he needs some reminding to check his mail and process cores.

And if he doesn't answer his phone and his voice-mail doesn't pick up for a couple of weeks, don't give up. He will answer one or the other eventually.

John's been pretty good with me on cores. Definitely just give him a call til you talk to him personally. I never really have had that hard of a time getting a hold of him.

I'll try to give him a call tomorrow. I sent an email today asking about it but couldn't break away from my desk for lunch let alone a phone call.

Like others have said, just make sure to keep trying John on the phone... that's the best way to get what you need from him. Keep in mind John has other ventures besides DeLorean parts (and I'm not just talking about his selling other European car parts- he sells books and other things unrelated to cars IIRC). I may have harshly critiqued certain products of John's in the past, but he always made things right when I dealt with him.

I started a thread and asked the same question on the old forum about 18 months ago...

Apparently it had been a while as half the respondents said it has always been that way.
