Problems Not Starting

Haven't posted in quite sometime
But the Delorean will not start, I usually start the car about every few weeks, but it just cranks
I changed the battery and even jumped the RPM relay and hear it but just briefly?
The car still just cranks, interia switch is NOT tripped. Also checked the fuses as well (it does has Gas in the tank)
I recently changed the Slave Clyd.
Is there a plug back there that I may have knocked loose?
There was a plug with 2 wires that was not connected but I plugged it in and still nothing?

I need to move the car because of house move. Don't want to tow it.
So any help is much appreciated!
Kinda of at a loss as to want to check for?

In the process of replacing the slave cylinder you may have pulled a wire off the ballast resistor, that would certainly cause a no start. The pulse coil wire could also be a culprit, espicially is the metal retaining clip isn't properly installed. Also the wire itself to the pulse coil could be damaged.

If everything passes a visual test, get a spark tester and with the help of another person, hook it up and turn the key to confirm spark. It may also be flooded. Finally, double check the vacuum hoses on the back of the engine. One may have gotten dislodged in the process of replacing the slave cylinder.

Two of the things you need to make a motor run is spark and fuel. A quick check for fuel, push down on the air sensor plate. If you feel resistance you probably have fuel. Pull a spark plug wire, stick an old plug in, ground the plug, and crank the motor. If you don't see a spark then you may have found the system with the problem. Since you said you recently changed the slave cylinder you may have undone the wire from the coil in the distributor. If you suspect fuel, bypass the RPM relay. if you don't hear the fuel pump run, check for power and ground right at the fuel pump.

Yes and yes I can hear the pump once I jump the rpm relay at first

Doublecheck your battery. Even though it might be cranking, if you haven't started it in quite awhile and haven't kept it on a battery tender, there's a chance that it might not be putting out enough juice to fire everything.

Are you pressing the accelerator when you start? When I was having problems with my warmup regulator and idle motor, I found that it wouldn't catch unless I held the gas pedal down slightly and kept it partially depressed for the first minute or two until the idle evened out. As others have said, it's most likely that something got pulled loose as you were working, but it's not impossible that something else has randomly failed, too...

Also you mention there was a plug with two wires that wasn't connected, can you post a pic of it so we know what it is? There's one prong off the ballast resistor that isn't actually supposed to have anything plugged into it. 51934 (Mine after replacing the burnt plug on the lower right.)

Have you tried the plug swap? I was having the same issue (wouldn't start hot or cold), but doing the plug swap I could get it started. Turned out to be the fuel accumulator. It went bad and just dumped the pressure right after turning the car off.

You say, "at first". This implies it stops with the jumper in place.

If you have a jumper wire installed it should run continuously. If you put your ear close too the FD, you can normally hear fuel gurgling when its running.

When you are cranking the engine, do you eventually get a strong fuel smell?
