I can't believe the owners let that car go across the block in that condition. The dents were HUGE, panel alignment was HIDEOUS. They didn't even bother to detail it and it still brought 24k!

It did just air, I did record it and the commentary was very favorable.

The commentators were very harsh on the car for sale (and rightly so, it was pretty rough), but the remarks and insight to the marque itself were quite nice to hear. Kudos again to Barrett Jackson for not only broadcasting the auction but being open minded to the lesser appreciated cars.

How long into it does the car show up? Might check it out on demand through comcast.

I honestly don't know but it was quite a funny event. I have been up to my eyeballs working on a new work van and i came in around 9 and my wife reminded me "Hey isn't BJ having that Delorean on tonight?" I had completely forgot so I dialed up velocity to see if it was too late and there it was!! They were auctioning off a Cobra kit car and the DeLorean rolled up on the block and I hit record. I will post it tomorrow. Had a HUGE dent on top of the D/S door roof and more dents and a terrible and I do mean terrible raised hood corner. If it shows up on TV you know it's bad and even the commentary made quick note of the poor condition of this example.

I do know it was around 9 15ish.

Managed to catch it (about an hour 25 min in...

Yeah looks like someone sat on the door...lol. The luggage hood i think is fine...they never fully close those when they open them. The black on the fascias needed some detailin'.

I actually saw the car close up yesterday at the auction. It seemed to run ok, but it was in horrible shape. What you could see (dents in the body and poor fitting panels & facias) as well as
poor fit and finish of the headliners, door panels, moldings etc. There were sheet metal screws driven through the door headliners holding them in place.
I'm curious on what it went for.....

Appraisers follow the prices of cars sold at auctions to help them set prices on cars that they are asked to appraise. Having a Delorean sell for that price in that condition can only help to raise the values of all Deloreans. All Delorean owners should watch what the values are and when their insurance is up for renewal they should evaluate if they have enough coverage. As bad as that car may be it wouldn't cost all that much to fix the damage. Just for laughs, how much would anyone think an original low mileage Delorean in #1 condition should sell for today? My guess, depending on where it is, between $50,000 to $60,000. SO,,, if that one went for $25K and it is low mileage, you have $25K to make it nice. Probably doable.
