Binnacle help

Got the new dash in,looks great,took out the binnacle and re-covered with some felt until i can afford a new or re-covered one,but,I have a dilemma.The tach and the oil pressure guage do not work now and they did before.What did I do wrong during the re-install? Thanks.6864.

Make sure your connections are good. The metal strips have a habit of comming loose from the cheap plastic backing.

Where those two electrical connectors mate on, they interface with a flexible circuit board - plastic with copper trace tape on them - its easy for the plastic and or tape to get damaged - inspect it all carefully - if its damaged you may be able to save it - if not the replacement is at least available.

It so easy for the flex circuit board to bend at the connection if you get a little aggressive with trying to connect the plug. I'd start there.

Its not an uncommon problem. If you look at the link below, you can see how bad my contacts were...I know this is your problem. You *might* need a new board.
