Interior Assembly Questions...

I'm putting some of my interior back together and got a couple questions...

first, the hook thingies for the cargo net along the panel under the back window...whats the orientation they should go in (my car was a mess when I got it, so no idea)...have a reference pic of them?.

Second... The dome light on the front of the headliner...anyone have any tips on getting that to stay? I have several of them and none of them seem to fit in there and grab onto the metal plate.

Third...any tips on getting the upper screw on the side (speaker cover) panels in? My side panels are bent down enough that its taking alot of force to push it up and hold a screw at the same time.

1. The hooks are oriented with the hook bending upward and the other end has 2 metal ends facing down (to hold the rear parcel wall).

2. The original dome lights use plastic clips that may have broken. There is an alternate part that is more expensive, but I think uses a better retainer system. See my video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UfdtN7r3GtY

3. I'm not sure about this one. I don't have a problem with my panels bending to the point that it's difficult to screw the panel in.

Thanks. Makes sense the ends point down, but wanted to be sure..hehe.

I'll have to figure out a way to get the one to stay in...$200 is a bit more that I want to spend on dome lights...hehe

The panell will just have to eventually submit to my will and let me get that screw in I guess...lol

I saw sometime ago on this site about how to get the dome light to fit properly. You get like a small piece of foam and then zip tie it to the end and don't cut off the zip tie end. Can zip tie both ends and then shove the light into the headliner and the zip ties help to spread out and hold it in place. I did this to mine and it's great!

Experiment with putting one or more rubber bands horizontally around the light, above the frame that sits flush against the headliner and below the electrical connectors.

To get the screw in, use an icepick to find the inside hole so you can figure out the proper angle to get the screw in. You can also use it to lever and move the panel a bit so the screw goes in straighter.

For the light you can use the foam trick. Hold it to the light with a rubber band. Woks on the light for the hood too. You don;t want to do anything too permanent, you might want to change the bulb!

I put the rear headliner in and it covers the holes on both sides...lol

I need to get the right screws for those holes too...none of the screws I fished outa the car seem to be the right thread or are too big.

The hooks for the cargo net has 2 different lengths. Be sure to put them correct. I guess the longest ones goes on the outer side.

Yeah, I put that all back together...didnt pay attention to length, but I will probably check tomorrow...lol
