Just a little something I am working on. Took a switch blank and mounted a cigarette lighter usb charging port in it. And wired it to the lighter terminals. For charging a phone.56979

Awesome idea! Looks great! Always nice to have a bit of modern convenience, especially if you can do it and keep it a bit stealth like this [emoji1303]

Thank you, I was going for a "stock" look. or as if it was done from the factory.

I love it! Clean and looks OEM. Kudos man!
Very nice. I went a slightly different route and replaced my cigarette lighter with a dual 2.1 amp charger.

Thanks. I purchased it from Amazon. It’s very well built and works fantastically.

It was just a tad too wide to fit in the cigarette lighter opening but a few minutes with a dremel took care of that. The power and ground wire connectors from the car were a perfect match for the terminals on the USB charger.
I chose to make my charger “hot” at all times (just like the cigarette lighter) so I went with a non-illuminated charger to prevent battery drain. If you want the charger to be hot only when the key is in the ignition you can use the power wire going to the cigarette lighter illumination bulb instead.

59752I love this! Gets rid of that crappy old cig lighter and modernizes the car to charge phones. Another wonderful mod I'll be doing!

Thanks. It has held up very well and proved to be very useful. No one notices it, not even the judges at the last AACA car show (I won First Place in my category and Best Orphan Car). There’s a nice installation write up in the latest DeLorean World magazine. :)

Glad I found this thread. I ordered this one instead so that I can have USB-C as well as USB-A.

Will report back on the install process.
I had considered this one instead, as it has PD and QC4.0 for faster charging: https://www.amazon.com/Lastest%E3%80%91Quick-Charger-AlfredDireck-Waterproof-Motorcycle/dp/B08SQCBC2C/
but that one is quite a bit longer and until i get in the console to verify how tight things will be, I was worried this extended too far back.

My new gloveboxes have a dual USB plug inside, mainly for charging a phone whilst kept out of site, but I like the USB in the switch, very smart.

That's awesome. Love your past DeLorean products James! Are you currently selling your seat-lever-brackets or louvre strut covers? What other new DeLorean things are you offering? (PM me if you don't wish to post)

Hi Josh,
I have a few designs as yet unannounced, but whenever I'm just about to start something new the demand for an existing item jumps up and I have to park things for a little while, it's a case of prioritising the printing and finishing for things that are in demand.
Gloveboxes are running through at the moment, they are a big print and taking up a lot of machine time, they have been an absolute devil to get right, the one in the photo needed quite a re-work and I had to test it in a few cars to ensure it was ready for market.
Anyway don't want to hijack this thread, but I'll announce new items on FB and on here as I realise not everyone's on FB and there are so many groups it's hard to keep track.
