Fuel distributor screw

Hi guys! New owner still learning about his car. I have a screw that stands very proud of the fuel distributor. It appears to be a screw that holds the distributor in place, but I’m not sure. I’m tempted to just screw it in but with my luck it’s a fuel metering adjusting screw or some other “don’t touch” screw. Any help is appreciated, thank you.58170

That's someone's idea of a plug. The adjustment is under the plug. Probably not very air tight and probably not very secure. You can get universal rubber plugs at an auto parts store or use a more appropiate sized screw with electrical tape or heat shrink around it.

Make sure it isnt drilled out, there is a plug i believe josh linked youc an buy super cheap that goes there. if not you will have a vacuum leak. My car was missing it one day( or never had it) so i put a new one in. I also had this question at one point when i first got my car lol

Thanks everyone. The car runs fine so I’m reluctant to mess with it. I guess at the very least I’ll make sure that screw is secure while I look locally for a plug that will fit.

You could use a golf tee in the meantime. One that's still made of wood. It's softer and won't risk scratching things like that screw might. Or wrap it with some electrical tape, as was suggested. That'll help seal any vacuum leak from that hole.

I wrapped it with tape for now. I like that golf tee suggestion though!:)
