Hi all,
I have a few billet aluminum pulley prototypes that I have made for the idler pulley. I have pictures ready to post, but something is wrong with tinypic.com could not upload pictures.
I will try tomorrow!!!

Beautiful work. Is you aluminum pulley compatible with the 3.0L serpentine belts?
If so, I would be interested in a set.

By the very nature of the differences between a serpentine and a v-belt, no.

3.0L serpentine belts? Meaning?

Depending on price, I am interested. I assume they are a tiny bit lighter, not that it would signifcant, just curious.

Defnitely way lighter!!!! You do notice a big difference in weight!
As for the price, for a pair(2) they will be around $70.
The pulleys will be powdercoated clear!

Yes, definitely!!! Clips included Stainles Steel clips, and I will also try to order a bunch of bearings and include with the kit installed!!!

Not sure if it will be a big deal or not, but I'd be a bit concerned about the differences in thermal expansion between the aluminum pulley & steel bearing race. Based on the fit of stock parts, & I believe aluminum expands quite a bit more per degree than steel, there could be a slop-gap that exists at operating temperature that may cause problems over time.
Might not be an issue, but all depends on bearing steel grade & properties compared to the aluminum used for the pulley.

Usually a press fit is about .002 to 003 inch. But when you press into a softer material you use the tighter fit because the material expands. So I don't think that would be a problem. I like these pulleys and will probably get a set. Not only a few ounces less on the back end but less mass to get moving with the RPM changes.

Thank you all for the kind remarks and interest!!!
As far concerns about the differences in thermal expansion between the aluminum pulley and the steel bearing, there are plenty of companies that make billet aluminum pulleys with bearings in them like ours. I did research, no one has had any problems. I will have to research the exact measurement/opening I will have to make the pulley for the bearings proper fit!!
Here are a few pictures of different pulleys with bearings.

These are definitely lighter than the stock, you notice a big difference!!
As I have read, companies that make billet alumnium pulleys mention that the cars produce between 11-15HP more on the wheels!! So we'll see!!
I will try and get to the crankshaft pulley. Take it off and design it!!

I slightly polished real quick one of the pulleys. It shines real nice!! I will have the pulleys polished and clear powder coated!!
Top one is polished.

SO back to the pulleys!! I corrected them.
Anyone want to test these for me??? MY car isn't driveable, and better if they are tested on a dyno rather than driving on the road.
I prefer dyno testing if anyone has easy access, with video. I just want to see if there is also a slight HP difference. I know it will be very little, but curious!

It would be less than if you just removed the A/C belt completely. I doubt you'll see it. But I am curious!

So I want to stat an Official Thread on these Billet Pulleys, what you get, how much, ect....
Where is the proper place to start the thread, on the General Discussion, or Mods page??

saw your message regarding testing. We will have a car on the dyno again in a few weeks at the latest.

Guys, as far as starting an official Thread for the billet pulleys, do I post it in the Genral section, or Mod Section??
I would say on the general section so more people could see it
