Hello

Seeking some advice on a bit of a roadblock.

Background info
- 7000 mile car with rebuilt and stainless resleeved clutch slave and master approx 4 years ago (clutch master was leaking), stainless clutch line installed at the time
- Hose from reservoir to master also replaced, not leaking.
- Regular clutch fluid flushes - at least every 2 years
- Non-adjustable clutch master piston
- Clutch pedal engagement is about halfway off the floor, and hasn't changed.

About a month ago noticed my clutch master was leaking into the car. Kept an eye on things, since it's not a daily, and was a slow leak. Didn't even have to top up the reservoir. My car has always shifted perfectly and I believe the clutch is good - no slippage.

Decided to get a new clutch master and slave from DeloreanGo. The clutch master is stamped with DMC. The master unit in the car is a Girling.

Installed the above. First issue was that the master adaptor (108459) had a different thread between the old and units, but solved that easily by ordering another adaptor.

Second issue - after bleeding the clutch line twice, the car wouldn't go into gear. We measured the length of the master pistons, are they are exactly the same length.

So by process of elimination, I've come up with 2 causes:
- air in the system - need to keep bleeding, or use a vacuum pump to get air out.
- faulty new parts...could be slave, master or both. Going to change the bleeding nipple on the slave as I've read the new ones can be an issue.

Is there anything else I'm missing? I really don't think the clutch would have failed at the same time, since it was running perfectly before the cylinder swap.

Well that was interesting!

It appears the clutch itself was stuck. It hasn't happened before, and the car only sat for 2 weeks. Everything seemed fine on the drive home though.
