I think the thread name says everything. On a Delorean (VIN5390) the inner hood cable is torn and we cannot open the trunk, which means fueling is impossible. How can we open it?

Try this...

If it is broke at the handle under the dash you may be able to get a vice grips on the inner cable. All depends on where the cable is broke.

Excellent video

It looks to me like at the beginning of the video the hood is already popped.

Remember on the old DMCTalk where we practically explained to a guy how to hot-wire his D from the relay compartment?

Better was bang on the wheel well and pop the door locks. Sets off the impact sensor.

Wouldn't the thief have to find a Delorean first?

And kills the fuel pump, fortunately!

I've had them try to steal my car. They partially disconnected the axle shaft from the transmission. Now, I have a few more anti-theft features installed.

If they're smart enough to pop the doors using the inertia switch, don't you think they'll be smart enough to push the pin back in?

Fortunately the Delorean is not on the top 1000 cars to boost list.

If the inertia switch is mounted in the trunk and they can't get it open because the cable is busted -- problem solved.
