Just curious, since my cat is removed I was wondering if it is a good idea to pour gasoline through it to clean it out? I tried to shine a bright flashlight in one end and look for light on the other but I cannot see anything. I blew it out with the air compressor and black dust came out, but I was thinking of
Swishing gasoline through it letting it dry and re-install.
Is this a good idea?

Don't do it.

three options, none involve pouring gasoline in it. bad idea.

- leave it alone
- buy a new one
- replace with a "test pipe"

Got it! I left it alone and reinstalled back in the car. Nothing was wrong with it anyway. Just asking since it was out.
Thanks!

Another option is to bust out the honeycomb so your cat is just a blank container.

There are additives that are sold that claim to be able to "rejuvenate" your converter. Pouring gasoline in it is not one of them.

Just get it hot (continuous high RPM) to clean it. Otherwise, see above.

Is it melted or broken? If so, replace as there's no way to 'clean' it.
