Hello all! I believe this is the correct area for my question, but if not I apologize ahead of time.

I'm curious whether a list/graph/chart exists that details DMC production numbers broken down by year and transmission. Also, I'm curious whether a tally exists regarding interiors (gray vs. black).

The other day I found Knut Grimsrud's VIN list, but so far I haven't found anything with a summary like what I was hoping to find (W automatic and X manual transmissions for 1981, Y automatic and Z manuals for 1982).

For example, here's a link (http://www.transamworld.com/bird-prod-numbers.php) to a page on Trans Am World's site with a breakdown similar to what I'm hunting. You can see in the "Trans Am Engine and Transmission Figures" section the transmission type is broken down per year (and per engine type).

Someday I do hope to own a DeLorean - until that day I'll remain a lurker, trying to read and learn as much as I can. I'm interested in one with an automatic transmission and a black interior - that's what caused me to start looking for such a breakdown, as I was curious as to just how many were made.

In closing, for those of you who might not have seen my post back before the site changed from Dot Com to Dot Org, here's a link (http://gregburrus.com/dmc) to my personal website with photos of my "Back To The Future" groom's cake.

Thank you very much for reading, and I hope you're all having a great week.

Levy and Iznodmad, that's exactly what I was looking for! I knew the data had to be out there somewhere. I guess this is proof I didn't look for it hard enough <hangs head in shame>.

Thank you very much to both of you for taking the time to reply with links pointing me in the right direction.

Have a great night, and thanks again.

How up to date is this list? Im surprised Australia has that many Ds, and even more now. Maybe 60?

I do know there's 2 in Malaysia and 1 RHD in Hong Kong (not sure if its still there though).

Simon,

That depends. The base document was the original sales information. For updates, Shannon relies on owner updates and sightings on various websites (here, dml, ebay, autotrader, owners clubs etc) and other sources.

So I would think in the case of Australia, it is probably pretty accurate as few cars move on from there. The numbers shown, say in Ohio, will be a mix of original and updated, so how knows how accurate they are. If a car was originally sold in OH and then subsequently sold 3 times, then Shannon may not know, so it will still be listed as OH.

Just curious how the stats are pulled together. We should have a thread that we can add this information so that Shannon can get updates straight from us.
