I am slowly tearing apart #4222, giving it a good cleaning and repairs where needed (which is quite a few places unfortunately). I pulled out all of the fuel lines and injectors to find them pretty grimy. Is there an easy way to clean them out? Is it safe to dunk them in carb cleaner? What about the fuel lines themselves? I don't think the lines are that bad, but the outside of the injectors look pretty nasty.

Cleaning the outside of the injectors is mainly cosmetic. Same for the lines. Do NOT use anything containing silicone to clean the rubber covering. Simple Green is good stuff to use on the hoses. If the rubber seals on the injectors are not rubbery they should be replaced.

Yeah, on second thought that was kind of a dumb question >_<. Thanks for the tip of simple green though!

Actually, thanks for asking that question, as my next step after cleaning the tank/fuel lines is to tackle the injector lines and the injectors themselves. I knew that 'cleaning' them only cleaned the outside, to have them cleaned 'inside' requires them to be sent off.

But, I did not know about using Simple Green,so see, I learned something off your question!

(OK, Secretly I'm glad you asked instead of me :tongue_stick:)
