I have realized today that the fuel distributor thats in this car is incorrect... couple of things i noticed when i got the car was that the distributor is silver in color and also that the frequency valve return was floating in the engine bay with a bolt and nut through it. Today i figured out that there is no attachment point for the return line on the distributor... probably why it was floating eh? lol.

Question is would this be ‘fine’ to run it this way? Not that i want to... what is the frequency valve for?

I think it best that i find a correct distributor, what do you guys think? Wheres the best place to get one?

Thanks!

The FV adjusts the fuel mixture, so you need it....Hopefully one of the carb guys can hook you up!
Maybe, place an ad in the Wanted section here.

If you want a rebuilt unit and the vendors want a matching core, PM me.

If you have the wrong F/D you should check all of the fuel system to make sure you have the correct parts. It matters. The parts were designed for the Delorean and the car will never work right if you don't have the correct parts. You should be able to find them, some owners removed the K-Jet system in favor of using a carburetor. In some cases some of the parts *can* be modified to work but the best thing is to get the right ones. You probably have an earlier F/D that did not have the frequency valve. The frequency valve fine tunes the air/fuel mixture electronically.
