Looking to put in a single din head unit in the DeLorean (getting a bezel with the cutout), but I'm wondering what some of you have for old school head units. Please post pictures of what you have. It has to be pre-2000's please. Thank you! This is the head unit I'm thinking about installing, since it's been sitting around since last summer. Bought it at a garage sale for $5.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200405/5c2858515720d94cfefe5ff90b1c28b5.jpg

Way cool. But needs a black face and bezel.

Too funny. I just ripped out the CB in my DMC last fall because it died. It was a hand held Cobra made in the 90's, figures. All of my larger Cobras that were made in the 70's are still working just fine.

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49630978788_c27639301a_z.jpgI actually just bought an Alpine dual-knob radio so I can keep the original bezel. Should be here Monday!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200412/018bb78c46c70847a285feb9f27804f4.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20200412/71256a1412a23b82c572f712496eb004.jpg

Love It!!! Those old school Alpine green buttons belong in only 2 cars, A Countach, a DeLorean, and maybe a IROC Camaro.

Agreed! Man, this takes me back. I remember drooling over these Alpine stereos when I was maybe 16-18 . One time, a Countach arrived at the local stereo store. It was red, and in the back of a glass container on a truck. It was part of an Alpine promotional tour. My teenage self was was blown away. I'm sure I have a picture of that somewhere.
Incidentally, the first thing I learned doing on cars was installing head units and speakers.
Anyone remember the 2 keys you had to use to release the head unit out of the din bracket? I still have a couple of those in my electronics tool box. :)

You probably know what this is:

(Hint: Factory option on my early Delorean ;-)
Going way back:

(Early disk player ;-)

I have a set for the Alpine unit in my DeLorean. Not pre 2000 but close.

It's not aftermarket, but I had to throw this in because it's definitely old-school, and it's from the 80's. I think it looks great.
This is my currently installed, factory AM radio (GM-Delco), in my 1988 Chevy S-10 SWB, Iron-Duke pick-up. It still plays great (for an AM radio). The buttons work, but the station selection knob slips, so it's hard to find a new station and thus I pretty much stay on the one station I can stomach.

I've debated whether to remove it and go with a modern double-din, remote control radio, mp3, SD, USB capable sound system, but I just can't bring myself to doing it.
