Hi!
Since I got my Delorean back from winter-hibernation, I did some maintenance.
When cleaning the driver side footwell I found the cable connection to the inertia switch horribly tinkered.
The connector-housing is missing and the connectors itself are bend in a bad way.

Does anyone know about the connector (company, type) and where to buy it?
I did not find it neither on delorean.eu or deloreango, nor in the google search.
Thank you very much, stay healty in this corona times,

best wishes,

Lars.

Hi Dave!

I knew, I saw them somewhere - yes, must have been the Hervey site.
Thank you very much!

After some more research I found the inertia switch on the "parts crossover list". It sais that the Inertia Switch is "Jaguar (eureka): (1)DAC1761K".

I really found the inertia switch, which was the old code for the switch. It was then superseded as AUU1229 and was finally superseded as DBC2022.

So I hope to find this connector at Jaguar.
Finger crossed,

Lars :)

You could try the vendors, maybe they can cut a plug out of an old wiring harness. You can always just use a bunch of spade terminal connectors or you can fab up one out of silicone.

I reached out to Rob Grady for you, but unfortunately he doesn't have any.

Try DMC Midwest.

I was able to get a used one from Ed Uding at DeLorean Europe. I asked to have extra wring so I had enough to splice it into the cars existing wiring.

To leave another breadcrumb research

"FASTON" terminals. Manufactured by TE CONNECTIVITY
These terminals and housings are found throughout the car.

I had the same issue. My friend helping me at the time went away and returned with a 3D printed socket. Worked really well.

You really don't need a connector shell for that circuit since you rarely if ever need to remove the connections. Just find the new pins and stick them in and or glue the wires from pulling out. Or carefully solder the wires to the pins. On my window switches I soldered wires to pins and ran short wires to another type of connector since I do have to remove those wires if I pull the center console. I did that so the switches could seat all the way down.

Hi and thank you for your help.

Ed Uding was the key to success. I don´t know, why I didn´t think earlier of his workshop. It is the DMC workshop which is nearest to where I live (although it is in the Netherlands).

Incidentally I did not have success finding the connector as a spare part in a Jaguar workshop...

Best wishes,

Lars.
