Does anyone know what other shocks can go on our deloreans? I have had my car on a rack in the garage for almost two months now waiting on the upgraded shocks from DMC with no end in sight. I want to get my car back and am tired of waiting. What other high end shocks can go on our car?

Can the monroe matic plus shocks be use in our deloreans too?

I ended up getting the spax ones from josh. I don't know what the big deal is with them because the bottom half is yellow. Honestly when the wheels are on you would never see it anyway. To think i wasted over 2 weeks waiting for the ones from DMC to come in, which who knows if they have yet.
I am so ooooooo Looking forward to getting my car back on monday.

You'll absolutely be able to see the lower half of the shocks from behind the car.

But, only yourself and other owners will know they're not the stock color.

Yes and no...

You need to have custom collars made to support the spring cup. There are several versions of the monroes depending on when produced and in what factory, so even old monroe collars may not fit another shock.

Also I have heard debate that some of the monroes are constructed sufficiently to work with such a ring, and others may not be. In any case the bushings are probably not sufficient for the application. The shock was engineered for applications where the shock only absorbs energy, not applications where the shock is meant to support the weight of the car (which is not a fixed weight, but dynamic based on what the rear suspension and the forces of the car are doing at any given moment).

Some of the clubs sell kits that may still use the monroes - in most cases they are engineered and prepped by folks in the know and should be fine - buy DIY may be a bad idea.

I like yellow.I like the yellow, too. When my New SPAX shocks arrived they were black and I promptly painted them yellow. I think they look okay.
