Second-hand markets and shops sometimes hide little gems, like a book signed by the author or a vastly underrated piece of jewellery. If you happen to be in Estonia, specifically in Kuressaare, Saaremaa, hunt down a thrift shop called Insect, because it has a genuine DMC DeLorean for sale.

The car, spotted by Geenius, is roped off like a museum piece and it looks like a pretty well-kept one too. If it still runs, it might be worth close to its asking price, which is a most un-thrifty 55,000 euro (NZ$93,540.70). Almost $66 thousand US.

While they’re a massive pop culture icon, it’s hard to justify paying nearly six figures for a DeLorean, especially considering they didn’t time travel from the factory. Even hitting the magic 88mph speed would be a bit of a feat, considering the top speed of a brand new DeLorean was 109mph when its 2.85-litre V6 was making the full 130 horsepower (97kW).

Of course, as everyone knows, the DeLorean in Back to the Future used a special twin-turbo V6 tuned by Legend Industries that propelled the car to 60mph (97kmh) in 5.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 150mph.

While that may seem like too much, in some countries import tax (duty) can be as high as 100%, effectively doubling the price of the car. And when you also figure in the cost of shipping, it could be a bargain to people there. The thrift shop can also be using it to get attention like the bank in Texas that had a gold Delorean in a glass case. They don't expect to sell it but it got your attention! Once they draw you into the store they hope to get you to buy something as long as you are there.

Say what? That's news to me. I'm assuming that was just a joke.

Yeah, that's hilarious how they just kinda snuck that in.
