Couple questions

In the luggage compartment there is a rubber cover over the brake fluid resivour. It snaps into a larger cover that can be removed with screws. I have two problems here and I'm not sure if this is just "the way it is". First, I can't really snap the rubber cover into the large cover because it is so close to the brake resi cap.

Second, the brake resi cap has a socket molded into it. (For a warning let) You pull the plug and twist the cap off. The issue is the cap is so close to the larger cover that you can't twist it off. Both issues seem to point at the larger cover being too low or the brake master being too high. I pulled the larger cover and don't really see any adjustment to be done. Am I missing something?

As it is, I can only check the level by pulling the larger cover. It's not a big deal, but just curious.

One other thing. There is carpeting glued to a piece of "hardboard" in the luggage compartment. The hardboard is warped. Do you guys change that out for some kind of plastic?

You just try to get that big rubber cover to fit as best as you can. There should be a wire plugged into that brake reservoir cap so you know if you have a fluid leak BEFORE you lose your brakes. There is a small round piece of black rubber in the center of that cap. It is to test the brake warning light by pushing on it. You can flatten the hardboard by putting some weight on it for a while with it on a flat surface or you can replace it. You can see the level of brake fluid from underneath. The ring on the cap is supposed to turn but you're right, it is close to the edge of the cover. Not very well designed. The hole in the cover was not put in the right place.

Thanks for the quick answer. At least there's not something uniquely wrong with mine. Do you think it would be blasphemy to make an access door in the upper cover?

Another question, I was underneath my car and noticed the shock rubbers on the rear don't look good. (Kind of squeezed to the bottom. Would I assume the shocks are shot or just the rubber? The upper suspension links don't look so great either. (Bottoms don't look bad)

Keep in mind the warning light on the dash will also illuminate if your parking brake is engaged. Either switch (brake fluid level low or parking brake lever engaged) will turn the warning light on.
