Looking for some help on distinguishing the various DeLorean magazines.

On the "Magazines" page of DeLorean Directory (www.DeLoreanDirectory.com/magazines (https://www.DeLoreanDirectory.com/magazines)) the first ~29 magazines are missing DATES.

If you have any of these magazines - or can positively identify the date/year - can you reply here with the date/year *AND* why you believe the date/year is correct. (Feel free to include a photo or two from the issue with the details.)

I'll update the spreadsheet so everyone can make use of the information.

The previous owner of my car gave me a box of mags. I haven't gone through them yet. What is the earliest date you have? (The date that these mags would be before?) I do think some of the mags I have are not dated, just numbered. I'm not a collector. If you were close, I would give them to you.

Hey Dave,
Glad to see you online - wondered about you since I'd not seen any activity on Facebook in a long while.

When I was down with my back prior to spine surgery and during recovery, I made an inventory of my issues of DeLorean World as I want to 'collect them all'. I'll email you my spreadsheet which has all of the information you are looking for on the DW magazines. For your missing 'DeLoreans' magazines, I have the entire collection and can pull the dates for these as well.

Please be sure to read the original post, and take a look at the Magazines page - www.DeLoreanDirectory.com/magazines (https://www.DeLoreanDirectory.com/magazines) - these are the magazines we have so far - along with the covers - but some are missing the Date/Year.

If you have a list of the missing magazines/info - along with the cover images, so we can identify them - that would be a great help. Or, if you're able to identify the Date/Year of the ones that are missing that info by reading the content in those issues, that would be even more helpful.

It would be easier to provide info if the magazines in the list had some kind of unique identifier.
I can send the info on all of those DeLorean Worlds if you put an ID string in the list, or make a Google Sheets that i can just type info in.

Here's what I know. I have a more or less complete collection. Sorry, stops at 2015 for now.

There are some real oddities - duplicate issue names but not the same issue, skips of years, etc.

When they changed from DeLorean World to DW magazine they started over with Volume/Number, but when they changed back to DeLorean world they just kept going.

Has anyone thought to scan in all the issues and make a PDF collection?

When I was on the Board of the DOA, I suggested that we scan the DeLorean World magazines, make them searchable, and put them in the 'members only' section of the DOA website as a way of generating revenue - and/or sell the PDF collection on disk (for a premium). I even found a few companies that would do it for a very fair price.

Sadly, the Board repeatedly refused the idea, instead opting to continue selling the over-priced, old print copies they had in storage.

Until the DOA is formally disbanded as a company, they still own the copyright to the magazines, so no one else could convert them to digital (and distribute them) without the threat of a lawsuit.

Maybe the DOA will wise up some day. I know I'd love to be able to search the entire collection.

This is a fantastic idea. There are some great articles in those magazines.
