So it would appear that my water temperature guage reads a little low. I figured I would pull the lead on the sender and ground it to see if the gauge works. Maybe clean the spade connection. There's a sender looking thing by the water pump. But that has no effect on my guage. (I think it might be a switch for the fuel frequency logic.) Of course there's the switch on the driver's side tube for the fans. But I don't see any sender for the water temp.

For the third time, I went to the manual/parts list and couldn't find anything on the thing I'm working on. Amazing. Funny, it shows a diagram of the waterpump area and had the temp switch mentioned above pictured. It was labeled #24. When I went to the key, it only had numbers to 23. Lol. There was also a drawing of tubes under the intake that had two temp sender looking things. Of course they weren't labeled either. Anybody know if one of them is the gauge sender?

That thing by the water pump WAS the Thermo-Time switch that runs the Cold Start Valve. By grounding it you probably burnt it out. The temp sender is on the front right side head.

I didn't ground it. It was a two spade system, so I just shorted them together to see if the guage would move.

Thanks for the info on the sender.
