Question about a specific Delorean (Purchase)

Hey guys. It's my first post here and I hope I don't make any mistakes.
Tamir from DMC Talk told me to just post this here.
I know its hard to asses value of a Delorean by photos but
I though I still might ask you guys for tips/help since its a major
decision for me.

Any tips on what to look out for when doing the actual purchase.
Anything you see on the photos that doesnt look right.

It has been my dream to buy a Delorean forever.
Now I am able to buy one and found one right here in Europe.

The car was manifactured: NOV.81. (stick shift)
V.I.N. SCEDT26T7BD006580
Price: 77.000 USD

I know in the US you can find them much cheaper but i would
need to ship them and handle paper work and pay taxes.
The car is registered as an oldtimer and has a car appraisal rating the car 1-2
The rating was before the maintanance

Seller told me that everything is original only the coilovers has been changed.
The Car has been serviced by a mechanic from germany who does
a lot of Deloreans. Refurbishing and repairing them for years. He told me he
has invested 30.000 USD in the car and has the receipts which i have seen.

Unfortunately, although "original" sounds good, it's really not what you want in a DeLorean that you intend to drive. The car *does* look
pretty good, but I can see a couple of things - the big issue is that looks like original fuel lines, which you really (really) want to be
updating. Ask the mechanic about this.

The coolant overflow tank has been replaced (good), but it's not "original". Also it's missing the throttle shield cover, which
you probably want to get. What little I can see of the underside does look good, but I'd really want to see a lot more.

My concern with this car is that it may still need a bunch of updates. I'd be checking history of the alternator (might
be fine, I have an original one in my Nov 81 car), water pump, fuel pump/sender and certainly taking a look
at the fuse box. Certainly seeing what's on the receipts would tell you all about this.

If you get this car (and I understand that you choices are limited), I think you should be expecting to do updates as you go along.

Even considering all the taxes and shipping costs, there are similar condition cars going for the upper $40K range in the u.s. Even a well maintained
car is going to require some work that might have not been done by a qualified mechanic. The most common problem that is not addressed is rust in
the frame. Rust is prevalent in any corner of the frame and even in the roof box where the doors hinge from. I think you would probably be happy with this
car but don't think there aren't some hidden problems that were not given attention to.
