The fuzzy trim piece that fits on the door that guides the toll booth. Mine was in bad shape when I got the car. I ordered a new one and installed it. After a short time it started falling off. I pushed it on again. It seemed to go on tightly. I hardly ever use the window. Yesterday I had to park the car outside in the sun, so I put both windows down to keep it cool. Not the seal has fallen off again. I guess the window going down drags it with it. Of course the window will not go up correctly if it's not there.

Tomorrow I will remove the door card again and fix it. I would like to fix it right. Do you guys glue it? I think it has metal in it that grips the door edge. Do you guys squeeze it slightly to make it grip tighter? How about some kind of screw at the ends? (Not sure how I would put one in.)

Strange how the new one comes off, but the original one on the driver's door is still going strong. I checked the glass and it's not pushing hard on the seal.

I go to the junkyard, pull some window trim off another car and fasten it to the bracket with bolts, washers, and nuts.

I used the fuzzy side of some black velcro, which I glued in place with black weatherstrip adhesive and temporarily clamped down until the adhesive set. It's been on there a few years and I haven't had any issues with it.

My fuzzy stuff is not coming off the trim. The whole trim is coming off. Are you saying you glued the Velcro directly to the door? I would assume it would have to be thick Velcro to guide the window correctly.

Mine was in bad shape (the fils part was gone) so I just brought one from DeloreanGo and installed it. No issues since. I definitely did not glue it...

I glued the velcro to the trim, then the trim to the door piece. Straight to the door piece would be a pretty sharp angle! But if your fuzzy part is in good condition, I wouldn't bother with the velcro; no point replacing what ain't broke.

If you have worked on it, it's pretty clear. It's just a U-shape piece of rubber/steel that has fuzzy stuff on one side. It snaps on an edge of the door. When the window goes down it rubs on it and aparently drags it off the edge. Wouldn't seem like it rubs that hard, but it's come off twice now.

I have worked on it and it is pretty clear. That's why I suggested photos. Because no one here knows what you're doing wrong based on what you wrote. Hence the pictures suggestion.

I didn't really say I was doing anything wrong. It's pretty hard to install wrong. It just pushes on. I guess you could put the felt on the wrong side. Lol.

In any case, I think I got it fixed. I took a pair of pliers and squeezed it just slightly every two inches. When I installed it this time, it was much harder to push on. So I assume it will be much harder for it to come off. We'll see.

In other news, I got sick of the stupid two screws that hold the door pull on. That has to be one of the dumbest engineering ideas every. I did some modifications and it's easy to install them now. When I do the driver's side, I will take some pics and put it in the "how to" section.
