View Full Version : Frame & Body Fascia to Body Fitting

As noted in the picture, the corners of my hood are a little raised in proportion to the fascia. Is there any advice on how I can "tighten up" the fit between these two parts?

The fenders are aligned using spacers.
They are underneath each bolt of the fender.
Perhaps you will need to add some spacers to better align fenders and hood.

Another reason can be that the front facia is not properly mounted (it seems a bit higher in the middel section).
Adapting the fenders also means adap[ting the facia corners.

How do you go about adapting the fascia corners?

Two ways:

1. Either the facia has been removed, making need of adjusting at the ends?
This is quite difficult as you need to get at the mounting screws of the facia.

2. Since the middel of the facia is a bit raised, at the re-installation of the hood the corners have not been used for proper alignment, but the middle has.
So the other option is to lower the hinges until aligned with the corners of the facia.
Then lower the middle section of the facia to match the hood.
Or after checking, re-attach to the mounting plate; the middle section of the facia may have been disconnected from the mounting plate.

Is the center area of the fascia above the hood line? If so the fascia is improperly installed and that's your problem. In your pic it appears to have a "crown". It should be straight across.

The picture isnt a very good representation of my fascia, but It's all I've got to go on... The middle is actually flushed correctly with the bonnet
