Has anyone here ordered this yet? I haven't seen it mentioned on this site. I plan on restoring my binnacle over the winter.
Thanks

I saw a finished one in person at DMC CA, and i thought it was nice. I didn't get to see it close to a dash though. It wrapped the entire binnacle including the black inner trim piece. I plan to get one myself as well.

To be honest, I think the new stitched binnacles look so much better than oe.

Is the black trim piece supposed to have a seam at the 6 o'clock location? Can't tell if mine is cracked or that's how it's supposed to be. My current binnacle has a big crack down the top which doesn't seem to have been repaired (properly? if at all) by the dreaded PO and then it has a leather/vinyl cover over it, but the glue for the black trim piece is unsightly. The black trim is either on top of or behind the edge of the cover, so it's not quite like what's available today. It's been good enough for 20 years but I'm ready for an upgrade. Anyway, I'm buying one of the last fiberglass Ireland repro binnacles which has the black trim piece molded in. Should have it in a couple weeks and I'll post some pics then.

I was told that the black piece is usually trimmed after a binnacle recovering, as the thickness of the new material makes make the bezel no longer fit. A stock binnacle trim piece has no seam at 6 o'clock. The new DMC Texas covering apparently covers the black trim, piece as well as the binnacle, making the trimming of the bezel not necessary. I'll report back when I get mine.
